LIFE IP CLIMAZ promotes training in safe chainsaw operation
Dec. 17, 2024
Last October, the LIFE IP CLIMAZ project organized two workshops on handling chainsaws safely as part of sub-action C1.1 – Internal Capacity Building. Coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action, both sessions occurred on the island of São Miguel, the first from 16 to 18 October and the second from 21 to 23 October, with a total of 26 trainees.
The theoretical component took place at the Furnas Environmental Interpretation Centre (CIAF), while the practical component took place in one of the specified intervention areas, enabling operators to apply the knowledge acquired in a real work scenario.
The aim of these sessions, which lasted 25 hours, was to train the trainees in safe and practical techniques for using chainsaws during operations carried out as part of the project's activities. In addition to this content, the trainees had the opportunity to learn equipment maintenance and safety practices to guarantee safety at work and prevent accidents.
