On next Saturday, at 10 a.m., the Regional Secretariat of the Environment and the Sea, through the Terceira´s Natural Park, perform an act of volunteering to plant endemics on Pico Matias Simão, Altares parish.

The site chosen for starting the campaign "Um terceirense, uma planta endémica" is in the Protected Area for the Management of Habitats or Species of Planalto Central e Costa Noroeste thus integrating the Terceira’s Natural Park.

With this action, carried out in partnership with the Altares Parish Council, it intends to initiate recovery of the vegetation of Pico Matias Simão, the eradication of invasive species and planting endemic species of flora or native of the place; goals explained in sessions promoted by the Terceira Ecoteca with the Altares Youth Group (BONA SIDE) and students and teachers of Altares Elementary School/Kindergarten.

In addition to the participation of these volunteers, the initiative will be open to all interested parties.
