The activities have will last approximately 8 hours, in the one-day version or 4-hour, in the half-day version, alongside an exuberant fauna and flora. The company Quinta das Macieiras dedicates itself, among other aspects, to the production and commercialization of old camellias in the Furnas parish. Despite being a company created recently, about two years ago, its founders already count on 10 years of experience in the area of propagation of outdoor ornamental plants, of which the old camellias stand out.
At the same time, we were also giving more and more attention to Camelia sinensis, the tea plant.
Extending and deepening the knowledge of this plant, we thought that it would be an added value for the company to take advantage of some of the innumerable properties that this plant has, namely in its leaves and in its seeds from which an oil with very fantastic characteristics is extracted. In this sense, we started the production of handmade soaps that include the leaves of Camelia sinensis and its oil.
About a year ago, we started a maritime tourism activity, namely tours on a 37-foot sailboat (about 11,20 m) and already during 2017, we obtained the licensing for a Local Accommodation unit in the Ponta Garça parish. At the moment we are making efforts to install in our farm a rural campsite associated with the new concept of camping called "Glamping".
